Ad fraud hits video campaigns

More needs to be done to protect the display advertising technology industry from video ad fraud according to a new report from bots and malware detection specialist Whiteops.

The Bot Baseline – Fraud in Digital Advertising report by White Ops and the Association of National Advertisers shows that globally advertisers are set to lose $3.6 billion globally to bots in 2015.

Programmatic video ad platform Brightroll has been purchased by Yahoo in a $640 million cash deal.

Pets at Home utilises crowdsourcing for poignant ad campaign

This is one of MarketingTech’s favourite campaigns so far this year. Pet food supplies provider Pets at Home has used real interactions between pets and their owners for a new video campaign, which was debuted over the weekend.

Instagram launches Instagram Direct – but should Snapchat and WhatsApp worry?

Photo sharing social network Instagram has today announced Instagram Direct, a service which enables users to send photos to groups of up to 15 people.

Evian baby ad crowned most popular YouTube advert of 2013

Evian’s “baby & me” advert has been named the most popular advert of 2013 according to YouTube, beating off competition from Dove and Internet Explorer.

The advert for the bottled water brand, which clocked over 67 million views, featured its trademark babies with adults catching sight of their baby selves in a mirror and dancing to a track called ‘Here Comes The Hotstepper’ by Yuksek, remixed especially for the ad.
