Martech skills platform launched for job-seeking marketers


Showcasing your skills on LinkedIn isn’t always straightforward. Endorsements are given by random connections on skills you never even knew you had, and a good recommendation is sometimes rare.

This is true for all job roles, but also in the case of marketing professionals. The level of marketing tech skill varies from person to person, but may not always be immediately obvious from a generic ‘marketing exec’ job role.

With more and more martech tools thrown into the mix seemingly every week, there’s a growing need for marketers - especially when seeking new roles - to showcase their skills.

One company that’s trying to solve this problem is startup CabinetM. It’s recently launched SkillStacks, an online visual platform for marketers to host information such as what tools they use and their proficiency level.

The ‘stacks’ are shareable, so you can share with friends, on LinkedIn or pop them in your CV.

CabinetM has a database of over 5,000 martech solutions, indexed across 100s of categories and also owns MyStacks, a platform for building and managing enterprise marketing technology stacks. The product's basic subscription is currently free to marketers, martech companies and agencies.

“With the shift to digital, marketing has become an increasingly technical function, making it imperative that marketers showcase their specialised technology competence alongside their marketing skills in any job search,” said Anita Brearton, CEO of CabinetM.
